This peanut-butter-banana-coffee breakfast smoothie is the ideal on-the-go treat for a caffeine devote. We take the coffee ice cube hack to the next level when we add it to a protein breakfast smoothie. Freezing leftover coffee (if you even have any) is a smart way to prep but we just brew a fresh pod to ensure we have them for the start of the day. This week we went with one of our medium blends, Fifth Ave but we would also suggest a dark if you want a more powerful flavor. As we regretfully distance ourselves from the warmer weather we needed another trick for these cubes. For a black coffee lover this dosage many not do the trick but it's a fun way to add a pep to your morning smoothie-step.
This recipe is a true DIY. We love spiking the peanut butter-banana combo but do not restrict the coffee cubes to the recipe below. Try chocolate, coconut and cherry mixes too!
Recipe: Peanut Butter Banana Coffee Smoothie
3/4 Cup Milk
2 Tbls Peanut Butter
2 Coffee Ice Cubes
1 Tbls Honey
Cinnamon, to taste
Blend together milk, banana, peanut butter, coffee ice cubes and honey. Top with cinnamon to taste.
