Keurig K200 vs. Keurig K250

Keurig K200 vs. Keurig K250

Welcome back, our coffee obsessed drinkers! We are back again with another comparison post. Today we are talking about the similarities and differences between the Keurig k200 vs. Keurig k250. Again, these are very similar machines with a few key differences. Are you ready to get started? Here we go…

You’ve landed on this page, so we’re going to go out on a limb here and guess that you’re in the market for a home brewing system? Yes? You’ve come to the right place – we know coffee machines almost as well as we know coffee. The biggest thing we get asked about is the cost – is it worth it? How much should you spend? The average single-cup brew system costs anywhere from $100-$200 (which is a lot of money). But again, we want to emphasize the long term savings that an at-home brewing system offers. The average American spends upwards of $1,100 per year on coffee shop visits. So, if you think about it, the long term savings of owning your own quality coffee maker is HUGE. Your bank account will thank you for it.

So, lets dig into the Keurig k200 vs. Keurig k250. Which one is right for you?

SIMILARITIES between Keurig k200 vs. Keurig k250
We have two machines that look similar – size wise both machines are almost identical. Both weighing in at 7.5 pounds, either one is super easy to tuck away into a cabinet or throw up on a shelf! Truth be told, they are not as compact as other models under the same Keurig brand but its height and weight make it so mobile! Both models stand over a foot at 13.7 inches, and are 9 inches wide. They are both made of a strong plastic material, built to last!

In terms of look and feel of the Keurig k200 vs. Keurig k250, both are sleek and modern. In fact, these two machines may be the most design savvy we’ve seen to-date. They have a chic aesthetic and come in a variety of colors for the most discerning coffee customer. We’ve talked about other models in the past and some only coming black – which is fine but doesn’t allow you to show off your creative side as well. Curious to see the color options yourself? Checkout Amazon’s wide selection of bright colors here. When we first saw these models we felt like they would fit perfectly into a dorm room setting, a first apartment, office space or even a bright and bold kitchen.

Both machines (of course) come with the water reservoir which is pretty common and convenient. You’ll want to note that both of these models hold a 40 ounce water reservoir – which means you don’t have to refill it everyday. That being said, if you do have to refill every day we’re not judging you. We’ll admit that there have been days we’ve consumed 40 ounces of coffee too…

For the size machine – we love that they both come with a touchscreen. Each screen is described as a black-and-white touchscreen that is 2 inches. This display helps manage all of the control settings, including custom brewing!

DIFFERENCES between Keurig k200 vs. Keurig k250

One of the main differences which we are excited to point out is brewing times! It has been said that the K250 lives up to its advertised brewing time of less than a minute. One of our big pushes for having a home brewing coffee system is the ability to save time. We love the idea stepping into our kitchen while still in our bathrobe, right out of the shower and clicking ‘brew’ on our Keurig machine. We all live such busy lives now-a-days that the idea of adding 10 to 15 minutes into our schedule just to stop at a local coffee shop, stand in line to wait for our order and jump back onto the subway — stresses us out. We LOVE that this machine has one of the fastest brew times.

The fact that the Keurig K250 also comes with a bottle of descaling solution is worth noting. What is descaling? This is an important part of cleaning your Keurig brewer. Over time, all coffee makers begin to catch coffee grinds and calcium deposits which can eventually impact the way it brews and even break down. The descaling process works to remove calcium deposits (or scale the machine) and removes any buildup inside the Keurig K250. There are many videos about descaling your Keurig machine, so make sure to review them carefully and follow the instructions! Note: we also have descaler available to purchase here.

FINAL VERDICT
These are two great machines with more similarities than differences, yet if we needed to pick one of the two the Keurig K200 is the winner in our book. The overall customer reviews and satisfaction ratings sold us on it. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email us anytime!
