What is the actual difference between cold brew and iced coffee? It is a valid question that could have a few different answers. CAFFEINE. When it comes to coffee and how much caffeine is in each serving some people prefer the caffeine count over the flavor. We are looking at you new parents & early risers. When you break it down a typical 16-oz. iced coffee has ~165 mg of caffeine and a typical 16-oz. cold brew has ~200 mg of caffeine. So if you are judging based on caffeine intake alone you have your winner. It’s a small margin but facts are facts. It is important to note that depending on how it’s brewed sometimes cold brew can be nearly double that of iced coffee.

It is less acidic and in-turn less bitter but typically more expensive. Iced Coffee is made with hot or room temperature water leaving it more acidic and often more bitter but as a result is cheaper than cold brew.
